The Bachelor- Skinny Dipshit

Tonight's episode felt a little drab to me. I had a hard time watching it through to the end, but I'm thinking as the numbers get smaller, the drama will get bigger. The previews look great.

Nikki's date-I'm just not sure how I feel about this girl. Something about her makes her seem unfinished. Maybe she needs a little shwoopy bang. Not so sure about her neon nail polish either. Maybe it's that I can't read her. She's wearing clothes that are a bit "Forever 21ish" (remember that store Wet Seal- totally reminds me of that). Maybe it's all the neon throwing me off. Honestly, I just keep having flash backs of these highlighter basement parties I went to in college. Anybody go to those? Well if you did, you probably can't remember them ;) Anyhoo- her wardrobe just doesn't match her personality for me. She seems a bit businessy at times. Like she's orchestrating her body language to appear comfortable. Feels awkward to me. Don't see her going far. I'm also seriously confused about her divorce. She has trust issues "but not for adultery". Hmm... Was she also implying that some things were her fault? Want to know more. I was extremely bothered that they took their shoes off to run around town...DISEASES lady! And seriously ABC, cough up an umbrella! Ok this is downright mean but Ben totally reminded me of one of those ventriloquist puppets in his tux.

Group date- I thought this was a clever date. I was entertained watching some of these girls (casey S. seriously?) Blakeley was pretty kick ass and I liked her a bit more. I like to see how the competition for time shakes out- really brings out the personalities. Kacie B. calling everyone "bitches"- hilarious.

Elyse- so I'm bummed that Courtney picked up on my jersey references. I really don't want to have anything in common with that girl. Poor Elyse. Not sure she made "good choices" (as my daughter would say). No job AND you missed your bff's wedding. Super sad. Worst part was watching her sail away to MY WEDDING SONG! Fuck that's getting old.

The ladies:
- Courtney: You little slut. I'll leave it at that. I give her 2 more episodes. Bitch has gotta go. Wonder if she's pregnant.

-Casey S: All I can think of is Paris Hilton.

-Kacie B: Still love her. Top 2 for sure.

-Emily: Really? Producer pick for sure. She just can't learn how to shut up. Honestly, I really hated how Ben said to "tread lightly". I probably would have kicked sand in his face. If there's one thing I know I hate it's to be quelled (word up Traci- I know you feel me on this- remember the shushing incident of 2008?)

-Jennifer: Damn. I liked her. I think she got dumped too soon to be a Bachelorette. Perhaps she'll be on Bachelor Pad. I feel like we haven't seen the last of her.

BTW- loved how the humidity fucked with Ben's hair the whole episode. Internal giggle.

Project 52: FOUR

This week my new camera has been tucked away but the iPhone has been in full force. Loving this new instagram app! It's super fun to play with and makes me want to look into photoshop down the road for editing. Still got a long ways to go with learning the ins and outs of my DSLR first. Anyhoo- this week I'm grateful for this gorgeous Texas sunset. I love this time of day for a lot of reasons. Ryan comes home from work. Ella has just about worn herself out from playing outdoors and we all sit down for dinner and to take a deep breath before the bustle of bedtime.

The Bachelor- In Case You've Already Been There

I kinda hate to start with Rachel's date, but might as well stay in order. First of all she looks like a cross between Anna Farris and Lindsey Lohan. I was going to say maybe Emma Stone but I think that is too much credit. I'm thinking it's her hair color. Washes her out. Maybe the flat bangs. Something about her just bugs me. Maybe it's her "wall". I'm thinking she would make a great auburn. One of those great red/orange shades that Drew Barrymore pulls off so well. Clearly I found her hair to be way distracting from the actual date which was a snoozefest. They lost me on the lake when they were smothered by 50,000 gnats saying "this is so nice". Dude they needed a freakin mosquito net or some Off. I see this going nowhere. I believe Ben described the relationship as "a slow burn that might be worth it". Umm yeah... romantic.

The group date. Hmm... well it beat skiing down the street in a bikini. Let's all watch Ben try to help the ladies catch a fish while he clearly knows as little as they do. Interesting. So I wonder which intern got to plant the fish on Courtney's line? Really Courtney, you magically figured out what the fuck you were doing and *swoon/ giggle* caught a fish? Riiight. Somehow she pulled off that little hat. I do have to say I laughed a bit watching Lindzi's face as Ben rode up on a horse. Never seen someone so excited to see a pony. And I LOVED him kicking Samantha off. I mean honestly, don't we all have a secret desire to watch a sorority bitch go down. Little miss tri delt didn't get in her quality time. wahh wahh wahhh.. bye. He did look sort of dick though. *inner chuckle*

My little Jennifer that could. Again didn't think my personal nightmare of skiing down a public street on national tv could get worse but perhaps repelling down a cave in one with a harness squeezing my fat would top it. Girl I understood your fear. Those camera angles from below are freakin scary shit. Come on now, we know it wasn't the height or the water below that was getting to you. It was swimsuit logistics. I feel that. I have to say, she rocked it well. You go girl. Her colors were a bit primary for me. Super bright yellow suit with super bright red hair... a bit much. But tone both down just a shade or two and I'm on board. I think I can see her in top 4. Really sick of the cliche date themes "catch a fish" and "take the plunge"... seriously?

Ladies Recap:

- COURTNEY: CRizzzazy bitch. But it just wouldn't be The Bachelor without one like her. "Winning" hmm that's so 2011- haha. It's almost like she slips in and out of consciousness. Like she has to remember to be threatening and self confident and then she slips back into ditz mode and says things out loud that she meant to say in her head. For example, she goes from "You fucked with the wrong girl" to "my glass goes taller than anyone else's". Must be total insanity to be in her head. She also referred to "poo" this evening. Goes right along with her "what's her butt" comment. Classy. I laughed out loud with her "I was just there!" moment referring to Puerto Rico. Wow Courtney, you are so cool. Wish I could be you.

- Emily: So have you not seen any of the previous 15 seasons? So the girl who talks shit about other girls to the Bachelor gets kept around for one more date so she can be pumped for additional info and then dumped because she obviously is still in middle school. P.S. Why are you having Blakely give you highlights in the bathroom while sipping scotch through a straw? Not good choices as my daughter would say. P.P.S. Cute rose ceremony dress though!

- Blakely: I'm really ready for her to leave but I did think her stomp routine was KICK ASS!! My inner gangsta has always wanted to do that. Bucket list.

- Nicki: Wow so you both had a friend that died? You must be soul mates.

- Kacie B: I'm gonna say frontrunner. Her and Courtney final 2. Fingers crossed she can keep herself composed for the next few weeks.

- Kasey S: Where the fuck did you come from? Little tattletale.

Door to Door

Ryan and I decided that our front door was in need of a face lift. It's all metal and painted green with a repaired peep hole- kinda ghetto. Well my little friends on HGTV say that one thing you'll always see your money back on is a new front door. Changes the whole look of your home. So we tried it. Here's how it came out.

New Year New Me

So how we coming with those pesky New Year resolutions? I'm hanging in there. I was really hating all this shit just last week but feel a little renewed this week. You know that two week depression you go through after you set a goal for yourself? I was thinking, why isn't weight just falling off and I still don't get this damn computer and don't even get me started on the camera DVD manual. BUT I've pushed through. I'm sticking with it my friends! And I hope you are too. I'm working out regularly (OUCH!!!!), still recording what I'm eating and shit, here I am working on this damn computer. The weight is INCHING off and I mean barely but God help me I'm not giving up! I did great those first two weeks cutting out desserts. I've slipped a little lately but not too far that I can't pull back and be real. I'm saddling back up and getting my goals in front me. Who's with me????

So here's my plan for this coming week. Continue with regular beating at the gym (seriously no one can prepare you for how much it sucks getting back into your workout routine after having a baby..#bodyisdestroyed#), keep on writing down what I'm taking in and patting myself on the back a bit more often for all the effort. I'm starting to really think about those Lululemon workout pants I want. Shit I'm already looking online just to scout them out. I think it's good idea to set up rewards along the way. Any of you doing this? If so, what are you using to keep you going? I'm also trying to make a few more friends in my gym classes. I think it really helps to know a few people and have a little social time before the ass kicking begins. Really motivates me to go, especially when I'd rather do anything other than a step class wearing a blank maternity tank top (my current go-to top for the gym... DON'T JUDGE!) surrounded by a group of size 2 mommies whose boobs NEVER move...so not fair! Also I figure if I befriend these skinny gals, maybe their fat immunity will spread to me.

I'm also really truly seriously going to start my camera manual DVD. Holy hell I have such a road block to this. I will do ANYTHING to not put it in and press play. Anyone have advice for this? I know I should just do it. In fact, maybe I should stop typing and go put it in. The thing is, I know if I turn on my tv I have this great new Oprah show just waiting for me.... mama O I just can't say no to you!

Project 52: THREE

Rhett Jameson Moody. My little man. This week I'm grateful for my sweet little baby boy that loves to be held. He's ticklish and happy and I feel like he already has a sense of humor. But this is one of my favorite looks. He's so serious! We're at the park and he just can't get his head around all these crazy kids.

Spaghetti Squash

So I love a new recipe and I like to try a new food (sometimes) but I especially love new veggies I've never had. One of my favorites is spaghetti squash. So I thought I'd share how I prepare it since this one can be one of those "what the fuck is that" produce items you pass right over at HEB. SO here goes.

1. Buy a small one (it makes a ton!)

2. Use a big ass knife and slice it in half long ways (hot dog style). Gut the inside like you would a pumpkin. I discard the seeds but maybe there is something fancy you could do with them? Not sure.

3. Flip it over, face down and pierce it all over with a fork. This will help it to steam when you cook it and draw the heat through it.

4. Place it face down in a baking dish with about a quarter inch of water in the bottom. Bake for 20-30 min at 350 degrees. I like mine al dente but cook longer if you want it softer.

5. Remove it from pan and peel out the insides using a fork (similar to shredding chicken). Throw it in a bowl and season with butter, salt and pepper to taste. Add parmesan cheese over the top and serve. Other variations include topping with marinara sauce or adding roasted tomatoes and herbs. All are delicious. I use it as a main course if I add meatballs or a side if I stick to the butter version. You can't go wrong.
